Growing up, Karem Villanueva has always loved reading books, although English was never her best subject. She spends her free time reading books, binge-watching movies, listening to music, and going out with friends. Her love for books introduced her to the realm of writing. Books always intrigued her to learn more about the world and about writing something you truly love. Writing an English paper isn't her strong suit, but writing about something she believes will help and impact others is what sparked her interest in Journalism. It sparked her interest as it was a way to express herself and have connections with others. She believes that it is important for every student at Rialto High to have a platform without discrimination where they can express their beliefs freely.
