Growing up, Juan Ascencio was never a big fan of reading or writing. He always preferred math and tried to stay far away from books. While for the most part he still feels the same way, journalism is an exception. Journalism showed him that there is a way of talking about important topics without having to write huge multi-paragraph essays. He doesn’t consider himself one of the best writers but he does like to write about topics he finds interesting. In Juan's free time, he loves to play all types of video games with his girlfriend like Super Smash Bros, Minecraft, and Fall Guys. He also collects Pokémon cards and tries to open Pokémon packs whenever he has the chance.
