Column: Legends, Lore, Superstitions, and More
Many of the strange creatures that I write about in this column were first spotted many years ago and have a long history. However, that is not the case with the Fresno Nightcrawlers.
The Fresno Nightcrawler was first spotted in Fresno, California in 2007 on a home security camera. Soon after the sighting, the homeowner reached out to Univision to help get answers to what they caught on camera. No answers came from this, but since then the security footage of the Nightcrawlers spread to YouTube and TV shows.
Similar nightcrawlers were caught on camera in 2011 in Yosemite too. Many believe that the Yosemite footage is fake and was made by good editing, CGI, and some stilts.
No one really knows what these creatures are, but they are often compared to aliens. After getting popular, the Nightcrawlers were considered cute. People made plush dolls, art, and even jewelry featuring the Fresno Nightcrawlers.
Even though no one really knows too much about the Fresno Nightcrawlers, they’ve still spooked, as well as fascinated many people.
😱Omg, I have cousins in Fresno! I hope that these are just fakes from the internet 🌐 and not real because aliens 👽 scare 😰 me, and the idea of something walking 👤 around my house 🏡 at night 🌌 scares me! (btw I'm a Libra ♎️)
I like the Fresno Nightcrawlers because they just look goofy. I literally could see myself doing this in front of Ring cameras to mess around😭
